My 3 month old son was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus 3 weeks before birth and then at the age of 6 weeks, he came down with Bacterial Meningitis and Sepsis... His pediatrician and brain surgeon have said that between the hydrocephalus and the meningitis, he will have some degree of brain damage... how bad? we dont know yet untill he gets older... We do know that his vision has been lost... He was hospitalized on Dec. 3, 99 and remains there for about 2 more weeks... He also developed 4 abscesses on the brain (luckly they have vanished), and has gone through 9 brain surgeries and more to come... If anyone who has gone through the similar events that my family and I are going through, please e-mail me so that I can have someone to talk to and understand more of meningitis... This is very hard to understand especially since my 16 month old daughter has no problems what so ever... Thank you for your time in reading my message...
