:
: I've been disabled for 13 years from a stroke, and have come up for review again. Can your benefits
: be taken away if you haven't seen a doctor or had tests in awhile? I'm stable with my illness...no
: better or no worse, but realize that the S.S. Administration likes to look at facts such as current
: tests and exams by doctors. Has anyone had any experience with being reviewed, but yet do not
: have recent tests/exams to show for it, and your disability benefits continued with no problem?
: The first time I was reviewed, I simply mailed in the forms, but 5 years later they had me see a
: doctor. Now three years later they want to review me again. Thanks for your input.

My disability has come up for review also. It took 2 1/2 years of fighting to get it in the first place. When they sent me the forms, I didn't take any chances. I wrote long statements concerning every doctor, medication, therapy, etc., I had had in the past years since the onset of my disability. They only asked for 12 months. That makes it seem like you have no problems if you don't see the doctor every week. It is not true though. There is only so much the doctors can do. Once they have done all they can for you, they don't really want to see you any more. I have not heard back about my case, but am looking to a fight I am sure. When you just filled out the paper work and your benefits continued, did they notify you, or just continue with no response? I sent in the papers 1-2 months ago and have not heard anything back. Good luck with your case.
