After reading your messages, I might be able to help a little. I don't know anything about the disease that you have. I have FOP, but I was able to get SSDI before I had the diagnoses. I had been down with back pain for two years. It took almost a year to get the SS but I did recieve the back pay, that way great. I have bone masses that have formed on my ribs under my shoulder blade. I have had one rib removed, and two inches off the top of my left shoulder blade. I am looking at another rib resection as of now. You did not mention any type of medication that you are on. Please let me know if your doctor has you on anything. I am on Methadone, nuerontin, flexiril, Lortab, and Zoloft for the depression that comes with being disabled! I have found that the methadone works better than anything else that they have tried. It does not see to mess with my head as bad as demoral, vicaden, lortab or those others that are closely related. I only take lortab for break through pain. As for SS I was turned down the first time. I filed an appeal and it worked. I also called the person that had my claim to keep them informed on everything that was happening to me, even the financial problems. I wanted him to know just how desperate my position was.
