Apparently you have not read either SECTION 504. A handicap in terms of Section 504
is defined as any physical or mental impairment that limits any major life
activity including, walking, seeing, hearing, etc. This definition further explains that a person
can currently have that condition, is thought to have that condition, or had a condition. If people
with disabilities could not work, then the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) would not have
any purpose. One of the major provisions of the ADA is to prevent employer discrimination to
people with disabilities, by providing reasonable accomodations to a qualified individual. Thus,
a person with a disability (e.g., a person who uses a wheelchair) must have certain
accomodations to work at an office (e.g., ramps provided.) Therefore, there are people with
disabilities who work.
