In order to have a definite opinion regarding whether you qualify for disability benefits from the Social Security Administration, I need to have more information. The ‘grid’ (applied to most applicants by SSA ) analysis will look at your age, education, vocational training, transferable job skills, and functional capacity (what you physically are able to do during the work day.) It is possible that you will be found disabled without application of the grid, if you doctor states that you have an impairment which meets or exceeds one of the “Listings” of impairments. However, your brief work history and husband’s earnings raise questions whether you qualify for benefits. You may not have paid enough into the SSA system, and your husband may earn too much. You can check your local SSA office for my information regarding these issues. Please also see the legal resources listed on my page, myfreeattorney.com
