Hi, I have an 8 1/2 year old son with Down Syndrome and I am concerned about his growth. He
is only 3 feet 8 3/4 inches tall and weighs 73 pounds. He just seems to be gaining weight (which
is normal) but... he's not growing up hardley. Anyway, I just feel like doctors are just blowing me
off just because he has down syndrome. They act like as long as he's healthy just smile and go
on. Well... you can't tell me it's healthy for him to be so heavy. He also has asthma so his
activity is not great anyway. But... I did manage with lots of arguing for them to do what's called
a bone age x-ray. Well for an 8 1/2 year old that = 101 months his results were only 75 months.
Yeah!!! Now what. Well we're in the process of going to another specialist. I was really just
wondering if anyonelse had a child with ds that was on growth hormones. If anyone has any
