my friend has a 17 yr. old girl w/ downs and she has never been an assertive.they live in fort wayne in. and I was wondering if there were any groups that can help guide her in areas such as social security, nurses that could come give her a few hours of a break,connections with teens her age...anything! I am trying to help but there is a distance between us and she also has another child who is mentally handicap. any help or links would be appreciated.thank you.
