One 6/1/00, my niece gave birth to a beautiful little girl who has been daignosed with Down Syndrome. Outside the fact that it is a genetic defect caused by an extra chromosome, we really know very little about it. Right now, the pediatrician has stated that she is developmentally normal for a newborn except for the slanted eyes and extra skin on the neck. What more should we look for or expect?
