My newphew is 22 months old and has recently
undergone surgery to correct his heart as a
complication of the Down's syndrome. He is doing well but is not gaining weight (he is still only 12.5 pounds). If we can't get his weight up
he will have to be placed on forced feeding or
a g tube. We really need help. I am glad to hear
MSB was so great for your child. What is this
supplement and where do you find it?
Thanks for any information.
Best wishes to you,
Cindi

: Marlie,

: My daughter has been on MSB Plus since she was six month old. Prior to taking this supplement,
: she was small and fell below normal, of course,
: on the growth chart. Four months after beginning
: MSB, her growth was obvious. She went from being
: way below normal on her chart to in the 50th percentile on weight and height.(This is on a normal growth chart, not a DS chart.) She is now
: five and is in the 15th percentile on height, and
: the 50th percentile on weight. Yes, a little short, but in addition to having DS, her father and I are both short also. Of course, Targeted
: Nutritional Therapy is controversial since it's
: opponents say that the research has not been done
: to confirm it's effectiveness. However, MY research based on observation of my own child
: has proven to me that the MSB has made a difference in her life. In addition to her wonderful growth, she has had fewer illnesses than
: my "normal" oldest child when he was her age. She
: can also, at the age of five, say her abcs(and
: identify the letters), count to 10, and knows her
: colors and shapes. Pretty typical of a five year
: old wouldn't you say? Of course, she does have
: delays in overall expressive language delay, but
: does communicate very effectively using on average
: three word sentences. As my pediatrician said,
: "Well, we will never know if the supplement has
: been a big factor, or if Kimberlee was going to
: be a high functioning child with DS, but let's
: not take any chances. We won't change a thing that
: we're doing for her now. Whatever we're doing seems to be working." Well, I hope this information is helpful to you and your child. Good Luck and may God richly bless you and yours.

: Vicky
