Congratulations! You are about to embark on a wonderful journey! Our daughter, Kimberlee, was
born December 16, 1994 and was diagnosed with Down Syndrome during the first month of her life.
What a wonderful gift from God she has been! I am
so thankful to have had the opportunity to have her in our lives. I know at this time, it seems impossible to be truly happy when you consider you
child's diagnosis. But take heart, and take it from a family who knows first hand how wonderful
a "special" child can be. Kimberlee will be starting a new school year this year. She will be
included part-time in the regular kindergarten program and the rest of her day in the developmentally delayed class. She is a very bright little girl who knows her abcs, colors, shapes. She can tell you her birthday and what her favorite color is. Sounds an awful lot like
most five year olds, right. Now I am not saying that she can do anything that most five year olds can do. But she is truly a wonderfully amazing little girl. We believe in her and the hope of a bright future for her. That's what any parent of any child has to do. Accept your child for who he or she is and expect the best of them. The results will be wonderful! Good luck and God bless you and your precious little one!

Vicky
