: Hello,

: My husband and I are expected a child in December. we have been told that our child has a condition called Down Syndrome.

: Any comments or words of encouragement, experience are welcome.

: we are reading all we can about this condition and have seen a specialist but would like to connect with other parents of children with Down Syndrome.

: Thank You Lee

My son and daughter-in-law had no idea that their second child had DS until she was 3 days old. They had chosen not to have the triple test because of the high rate of incorrect results. The first few weeks of her life were very emotional for our very close family. Lindsay is now 2 1/2 and I couldn't imagine life without her. There have been and continue to be challanges to raising her but we are convinced that she was sent to us to make us all better people. My only suggestion is to find the nearest chapter of the DSA and they will be your biggest source of help. A sponsor family was assigned to my son & his wife to help them cope and to give them advice. They have been invaluable! Good luck and may God bless you with a healthy baby.
