: I work for a foundation that provides services to individuals with various disabilities, and I'm in a group home setting. I am very disturbed that one of the ladies who has down's syndrome is assumed to be in the early stages of this sad disease, alzheimers, and I was wondering if it's common, and if it's fatal. I am very uninformed, and I need to know.

Hello. How old is this lady? What is her level of comprehension? Typically I have not heard of
any Down Syndrome older than 40.They tend to "forget" ALOT anyway.I hope this helps.
