Tonight I just bought my 5 day old daughter home from the hospital. I have been told that she has Ds and has to have heart surgery within the next 6 months. I never thought anything in life could be this painful. Like any parent, I have the highest expectations for my children. But when I look into her eyes I am aware that some of my dreams for her will never happen. I have been a very positive proactive person throughout my life. But this one hurdle that I now must face, makes me feel so defenseless
