Sandy.
You are NOT past the turning point, i don't believe there is such a point. I have a friend who has been anorexic for almost 20 years, and she is just now starting to get very much better! I give her a lot of support. I had anorexia only for a short time, luckily, but I undersatnd the ambivalent feelings and the fear and feelings of hopelessness of the illness, i have felt them, and it was very scary. I feel very lucky, I mean blessed, that I got out of it. But even after many years, it is NOT too late. please never give up. You know, things that have been here for a long time, they can change in a short time! There is ALWAYS hope. I will pray for you,a nd feel free to email me any time at kk_kitkat@hotmail.com.
Also I think it is GREAT that you are warning people form becoming anorexic. Sharing your experiences with others is also a good way for you to get a sense of purpose, that so often gets lost in anorexia. I feel that way too. Hey, maybe we were SUPPOSED to help others? I think everything happens for a purpose. I ahev been through a lot of bad bad times, not only the anorexia, other stuff too, but when i look back, I don't really regret them, because i start seeing meaning in them.
