I tend to think that sometimes when you binge its because you have taken in so little that eventually your body takes over sort of a survival thing. From what you say you eat that sounds entirely possible. I'm not sure if you binge every once in a while you will gain weight ( i guess that partially depends on what you mean by once in a while) I also know that when you take in a very restrictive amount of calories as it sounds like you do your metabolism slows way down (starvation mode--because your body doesn't know the difference between an intentional diet and a famine or something along those lines) SO it learns to live and conserve body weight on a very limited intake. Therefore when you do "binge" it could have a greater affect then the same amount of food for someone who isn't as restrictive because their metabolism will be working better. Also I might try to take a very honest self inventory, if you really didn't think you had a problem you probably would not have sought out this board. good luck
