It seem to in my case but I think what really helps is self esteem. If you build your children's or yourown self esteem and find selflove you don't really want to do this kind of thing. When I learned to love myself and realized that I was special it helped me to get through it. I really try hard to build my children's self esteem and I never make comments about weight. I don't point out the difference about thin or fat to my children. My daughter is 4 and doesn't know what fat is. Its considered a bad word in our home.
