It could cause stomache problems. When you chew food your stomache is expecting to recieve food, so it makes extra acid in preparation to digest the food it's expecting to get. When you don't swollow your stomache is left with all that extra acid and no food to absorb it, this can damage the lining of your stomache and cause ulcers.
