: There is plenty of advice that we should drink from one and a half to two litres of water each day. My son insists on drinking five litres in addition to coffee and any alcohol (mainly beer). What is the likely effect, if any, of this?

I have been studyingh health in college. We went over this in anatomy before. I can't remember it all, but I do beleive that it can wash out some of the proteins and vitamins that your body does have. You can start retaining water....do beleive incognance....I can't remember the rest. You might want to check with your doctor to make sure.
