: I am brand new to this terrible eating disorder as of last night. Imagine the horror I'm feeling - the love of my life I've been married to seven plus years describes this self destructive series of acts as having been a part of his life since he was a kid! I am devastated!
: I cannot say that I understand what you are going through though I do understand your overwhelming desire to stop. Thank God in heaven that Bulemia doesn't have its hooks into you deep enough where you feel you need it. In other words, you are still able to think with a sound mind.
: I do not have experience dealing with someone in the throes of Bulemia, which is where I need help, but I do have experience identifying problems before they domino, and that is what I want to help you with before Bulemia takes hold of your mind.
: There is a God in heaven who loves you just as you are, in fact, He loves you so much that He came to earth to die for you, and you're right. You don't need to purge your body.
: The reason you feel guilty when you eat too much is because your conscience is convicting you of the sin of gluttony, so trying to purge yourself clean of the sin, you instead purge your body. But you can't purge your sin that way. Jesus did that for you when He died on the cross, but the only way to purge your sins is to confess them to God and decide to stop living for yourself to live for Him. He wants you to be free of Bulemia.
: Living for Jesus is a sacrifice, but his yoke is easier to bear than the guilt of consuming too much food, and when you turn your life over to Jesus, He equips you with the Holy Spirit and the fruits of the spirit like love and self control to help you keep from sinning. (He also gives you spiritual brothers and sisters.) It doesn't mean you won't ever sin again, but it does mean that you have an advocate with the Father who can make you clean if you do.
: It is my hope that the Spirit of the Lord will break through the hold of Bulemia over my husband, and I will pray and pray until he is free.
: I have also decided to pray for you along with my husband, and I ask nothing in return. You are a bright lady, not much younger than myself, and through the help of the Lord Jesus you CAN overcome it. I know you can.
: Here is a quick little something to help you make it stop: "Submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you." James 4:7
: Praying with sincerity for you, loved one-
Thank you so much for yor post - you really don't know how much it meant to me. Strangely enough, I've recently felt that I really pulled away from God (I guess it's not really a coincidence at all), and I just kept trying to figure how to get myself where I had a real relationship with him. And with this whole bullemia thing I just kept asking to find one reason that would make me not want to do it. And you helped me remember that God is that reason. It really touched me that someone I don't even know is out there praying for you. Thank you so much - it'll be hard, but knowing that I don't have to do it alone is comforting. I really hope your husband can work through this. I'll be praying for you, too. Thank you again
