I had several seizures at 15. The condition was controlled by medication (Dilantin. After two years on the meds, I hadn't had anymore seizures, and my EEG showed no spiking, so I was taken off them. Four years later, I started having them again. There was no precipitating incident (like a bump on the head) either time. No one can tell me why they came back. They were just there. It was very discouraging. I felt bad about the pressure it put on my family because they were so worried about me, I couldn't drive, etc. They've been very supportive and understanding, though. Making sure you have good support in your family and friends is very important.
I haven't had any seizures in several years, but both I and my doctors are hesitant to go off the meds again (Dilantin and Carbamazepine this time), given my history.
Good luck to you and hang in there. It's not a happy situation, but it will get better.
