In Reply to: What are the "known" side effects of taking Dilantin? posted by Marie on March 05, 2000 at 19:44:17:

: My husband has been taking Dilantin for about 20 years now. What are some of the side effects?
: be bothersome to him. I do know that he always has been forgetful, but more so lately than ever before.
: Any connection to the medication?

Forgetfulness is due to the seizures and location in the brain where the seizure occurs, and the moodiness is from dilantin (i say this because I'm moody). The stuff will take you on an emotional rollercoaster ride if it doesn't level out in the bloodstream. Bless you and good luck.
