: : : My wife seemed to stop having fits about 13 years ago. Last Thursday was the first in such a long time. My question is has anyone had experiance of this happening to them. Also any info on PHENATOIN??
: : My seizures were controlled with medication for two years, and since I had no spiking/no more problems, I was taken off them. They reappeared five years later for reasons no one knows. No head injury, adverse medical reaction, etc. They were just back. It's a horrible feeling. I've been seizure-free for 6 years, but getting them under control required different medication than the first time. You and your wife have my sympathies.
: My doctor just started me on phenytoin (generic for Neurontin), 300 mg. twice a day, increasing to three a day and then four. I feel so drunk I wouldn't dare drive. There is a web site that desrcibes the side effects, etc. www.rxlist.com, and then addon the end/cgi/generic/phenyt.htm to go right to the page on phenytoin. Good luck.
Please forgive me, I said phenytoin is generic for Neurontin. That is wrong. Phenytoin is generic for Dilantin. Have just started Neurontin, and I guess I just have it on the brain. Sorry about that.
