: Can medicine ever control this? My daughter is already on two meds--tegretol and lacmital---She still has seizures about once a month. She would love to get back to driving.

In the state where I live you have to be at least seizure free for 1 year to get/keep a drivers' license. Unfortunately for me, although that was the case with me, one day I had a grand mal seizure while I was driving and caused a 5-car accident, of which one person later died in the hospital. I was "following all the rules", but that one instance messed up several lives, and it's something I will always think about. I understand what your daughter must be going through (I've had epilepsy since childhood),but my seizures had always been under control up till that point. So my advise to you is to PLEASE take this slowly and hopefully time will prove that a proper balance of meds will do the trick. Believe me, she does not want to go through the same scenario.
