: I have heard about the VNS but it seems a complicated medical appliance. Is it easy or hard to use. Could you describe it for us please? Thank you

: : Our daughter received her stimulator in 1998. Her seizures have decreased by 80% We are extremely pleased. She has gone from 26 pills a day to 10.
My daughter received her Vagal Nerve Stimulator 8-9-00 and had it turned on 8-28-00. It is kind of like a "pacemaker" but it is for the brain. It sends an electric current to the brain . My daughter's is set 5 minutes off and 30 seconds on. Whenn you see the patient have a seizue you swipe a magnate in front of it and it will send a extra stimulation. Also if the person feels or can tell the are fixing to have a seizure they can swipe it themselves. For more information got o Cyberonics.com
