: I was diagnosed with epilepsy in 1990 (when I was 12 years old). In the last three years it has been
: totally controlled with medication until about 2 weeks ago. In the last two weeks i have continued to take
: my medication as I have been for the last few years but I have had 2 seizures that I know of and I think I
: had one in my sleep. Any ideas why this might happen. I have not been drinking alcohol. Also does
: anyone know if it is possible to have seizures in your sleep?

: Sarah

I was diagnosed with a seizure disorder at age 27 after giving birth to my daughter. I was told the pregnancy
was not the reason that more than likely the hormone change brought out a problem that was already there.
What problem? Why? I have had 1 clonic tonic (new word for grand mal) and multiple simple partial and cmplex
partial. I have also had seizures in my sleep. I have taken multiple medications with no success. I underwent
a right temporal lobectomy 6 years ago with no success. I am now taking a combination of tegretol and lamictal
and have been seizure free for 8 months! Thats a record for me. When I have had seizures they
have been for no aparent reason. Is there anyone out there who has underwent surgurey with success?
