: Hi Ronnie- My son also has epilepsy. He has been on tegretol for a few years (he is 15 yrs. old). We recently switched doctors and found out his tegretol level was toxic. He was put on lamictal two weeks ago and had an allergic reaction, so he has been taken off lamictal today. The doctor prescribed zonegran (100 mg/once a day). Our pharmacy has to order it, because it is so new. We have to wait 3 days. I'm concerned about waiting the 3 days and I'm also concerned because it is so new. How has your son done on this medicine so far?
hi Peggy
You shouldn't have to wait three days for any med, switch pharmacies. Mine can get anything in 24 hrs. My son isn't on zonegram yet but it is an option. We've tried teg, dilantin, trileptal, depakote, and now keppra. still no control. i can't find anything on zonegram online, very unusual. Let me know what you learn.
Thanks liz
