: Hello. i just found out that i have epilepsy. I'm 27 yrs. old. I had a seizure six yrs ago coming out of recoverory from a operation. and on sunday i had another one. The doc. said no driving for six months and if i was seizure free tor this time he would allow me to drive again. but he highly doudts that i will be able to drive again...Does anyone get SSI for epilepsy?? What kind of restrictions do you all have?? what kind of adjustments do i need to make to my everyday living. I have two young children and unsopportive husband. thanks.

Hi Jenni

Give the husband a kick up the rear end for starters! You will need support because your epilepsy means changes for you and your family and he will just have to get his act together. I would get in touch with my local epilepsy association they will probably have meetings where you can meet other local people with epilepsy.
