: have had grand mal seizures, am on tegretol. Has any one found food triggers seizures. Any reccomendations for diets or natural treatments.
: Thanks Anna
I have been on Dilantin for 1 year following a grand mal seizure, and have had students who were on a variety of anti-seizure medications. I have cut out coffee (regular) to avoid getting "hyper" or coffee jitters. None of the students had a food problem that triggered seizures. I do take Ginko for better brain functioning. I have not had an additional seizure since I started taking the dilantin, and was able to cut the dose from 300 milligrams to 200, with my doctor's blessings, to help avoid long term use liver damage, and avoid the swelling of the gums in my mouth and eye irritation. I feel that Dilantin is a "friend" taking care of me.
