: : I am 42 years old and I have had seizures since I was 13 years old. I recently was diagnosed with Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy. I am taking depakote, phenobarbital and dilantin. My Doctor is going to be taking me off these meds and try Zonegram. I know nothing about it. If anyone has any info for me re: new med and type of seizures I would appreciate your input.
: I'm curious...will he be switching you suddenly or gradually to the zonegram? And what is Juvenile Myoclonic epilepsy?
: Hope someone can give you info about the new medication.
I also have had JME since i was about 12 and been on different types of medications...first it was tegretol which was controlling everything except some mornings my arms would jerk and anything in my hand went across the room....i was then switched to depekene...but it was hard on my stomach but now im on EPIVAL and it works great....its very close to depekene but without the killing ot the stomach
Every seizure i have ever had came withen the first few hours of waking...so if you are like me you need your sleep...unfortunatly for people like us we have to work on the world's time and not or own...so if we have to be up at 7am we have to its life...just to bad for us if we dont get a decent sleep then we are in trouble..but brother and sisters i dont know how bad mine is but i know AS LONG AS I SLEEP PROPERLY (and i have a sleeping disorder)
THAT I NEVER HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT SEIZURES...if anybody with jme wants to chat mail me a firstname.lastname@example.org
