: I HAVE BEEN ON DILANTIN AND LIBRIUM FOR 25 YEARS AND MY MD WANTS TO CHANGE MY MEDS NOW. NEEDLESS TO SAY I HAVE MY DOUBTS AND WORRIES. HAS ANY BODY BEEN ON DILANTIN AND TAKEN OFF WITHOUT HAVING A SEZR? I HAVE ONLY HAD ONE IN THE LAST 16 YEARS AND REALY DON'T SEE THE NEED. IF IT AIN'T BROKE WHY FIX IT!

I strongly agree with you. Like yourself, I've always enjoyed reasonably good seizure control under my dilatin/phenobarb therapy. A neurologist wanted me to drop my phenobarb in place of neurontin. I was rather leary of the proposal and refused to try change drugs.
