Hi Michelle, I'd be interested in speaking in more depth concerning the chiropractor. I too see a chiroprator as often as I can afford to because I too believe that when your back is off line it irritates the nerves and in turn triggers/lowers threshold for seizures.
I cannot give you any encouragement though for your desire to get him off medication. If he has seizures, he'll always need an anticonvulsant. From personal experience (keep in mind, I have epilepsy, I am not a doctor) the more risks you take in changing things the more risk there is for him to have a seizure and every seizure he has will create brain damage for the next seizure to be even more possible to occur. By this I mean, the more seizures he has, that many more will come, etc...domino effect...something like that. I know this because I wasn't satisfied with having one seizure a month, I want to be seizure free...well, I tried changing meds, getting off meds and many other things which only caused me to have a bunch of seizures and now all I wish for is to have one seizure a month instead of currently having 2 or 3 a day! Be very very careful and work with the doctor for his sake. Drugs suck, I know this but it's better than the seizures. I hate drugs but I'll take a drug over a seizure any day!!! Hope this helps....
