: : I have 2 children ages 10 AND 8 that are afraid of their father when he has a seizure.
: : They will go to their rooms and hide under the beds or go to the closet. what can I do
: : to keep them from being so upset when he has a seizure?

I have three children ages 9,5 and 6 months I have always explained to them about my epilepsy because I did not want them to be afraid of me.Just explain to them that it is not something their dad does on purpose its just something he has no control over just like any other illness. I know it it very hard for them to understand but eventually they will. When my oldest daughter was 6 years old I was alone with her in a store and I had a seizure she was my only help. She was able to tell the store manager my problem and give him our phone number. Don't give up, a seizure is a horrible thing for an adult to see let alone a child...hang in there.
