I think you're under estimating a lot of women. There's nothing wrong with riding the bus. The women you date may have cars and probably wouldn't mind driving. I know a taxi is expensive, but would be nice for a special occasion.
I don't know where you live, but maybe you can relocate to a downtown area where you would be able to walk to different clubs, restaurants, social events, theaters, music, etc.
If you want a social life, you've got to get out there and try to meet people. Give it a chance - don't be disappointed if it takes a while to find a nice person.
