: My brother has seizures on average of one a week. He is 46 and currently living with our aging mother. The family wants to help him locate a new residence. How likely is it that he could live independently? He is a smoker as well. The family is afraid for him to live independently in case he has a seizure while smoking or cooking. Experience and wisdom most greatly appreciated!

: Thank you and bless all of you!

Hi,

If he has auras that warn him of his seizures he might have time to phone someone quickly. Ideally he would be better off living with another person and it might give him some peace of mind. Perhaps he needs a more effective anti epileptic drug, a higher dose or could add on to his existing med with another one. Good luck!
