My son has been on lamictal for over 18 months. He has developed some symptoms I believe are related to the medication. I am not sure what a hypersensitive gag is but he will be doing he regular activities and all of a sudden he will have the air forced out of his lungs and it makes a sound. He also experiences muscle weakness where he will just fall or drop. We are concerned about this medication. He takes 800 mg/day.
