Keep your chin up Jessica! I too had to deal with epilepsy in the eighth grade. I had to deal with it for 10 years (8 years old - 18 years old) when I had brain surgery to correct it 10 years ago and now I don't have epilepsy at all. I didn't want any of my peers to know about my seizures when I was your age because I was embarassed. I would hide them by putting my head down on the desk when I could feel one coming on. So I understand the difficulties you are going through. Even though I had up to 20 complex partial seizures a day, I was able to start on the varsity girls b ball team and run the 800 meters in track. I had seizures during a game several times but my friends and coaches were very supportive. Try to not take to heart the sometimes hurtful things others kids say to you. Sometimes other people tease to make themselves feel better at the expense of others feelings. You should know that, in the end, they are the ones with a problem. Make sure the company you hang around with is positive and supportive toward you. Try to focus your energy on them instead of others who try to hurt your feelings.I hope things get better for you. What kind of seizures do you have and how often, if you don't mind my asking? Take care, Jessica.
