Hi,
My son is 13 yrs. old and also has CP (rt hemiplegia) He has had seizures now for 7yrs and has been treated with many different drugs. He mostly has tonic seizures where his body will stiffen and then he falls. He was put on lamictal and this drug greatly controlled his tonic seizures down to 2 a day, but he started having grand mals. I find that all these drugs change the nature of his seizures and sometimes increase their frequency and potency. I'm going to ask the neuro to take him off the lamictal (he has to be hospitalized for this). If he isn't in a controlled situation he could go into status.
Please fell free to email me if you have any questions, believe me I have a wealth of information in this regard.
