: I've been using the bodyflex system for about 3 weeks and have lost 5 inches and 2 pounds (without dieting). I'm thrilled with this program. It's fast and produces great results if done correctly and consistently. Even if I didn't see any results, I would continue doing this program for the phenominal amount of energy I now have. The theory of body flex is that oxygen burns fat. The body flex technique teaches you to put your body in an 'aerobic' state by quick, deep breathing and simutaneously incorporate isotonic, isometric and stretching exercise positions to rush that oxygenated blood to the area you are exercising, which in turn helps burn fat. Aerobic means increasing oxygen to the blood. Bodyflex is another method of doing this without any jumping, or running, etc. This technique if very different from yoga. Yoga is slow, deep, relaxed breathing. This technique is nothing like that. If you want to see what kind of results people are getting from this program, I recommend you visit an online body flex support group at www.insidetheweb.com. Once you are in this sight, do a search for a message board called "Body Flex Support Group". Or another good place to check out is www.amazon.com to take a look at the customer reviews for Greer Childers book called "Be a Loser". It will give you a ton of feedback...most of it good! I hope this information helps.
: : : now, i think you understand. you see, i agree with you about taking short breaths and tiring out easily and deeper breaths to pace. i find it is healthy to take deeper breaths, though. our body is made up of about 90% oxygen and if we inhale lots of oxygen, we're actually helping our bodies out.
: : : i'm glad you understand what i was trying to ask. if anyone else might know anything about the breathing patterns, please post a message.
: : : thanks for taking your time to respond, taylor.
: : : : Ahh okay, yes i DID overlook that...forgive me. And i hope you don't think i came across negatively.
: : : : But, breathing DOES play a small part in your exercising. If you were to take quick, short breaths
: : : : constantly, you'd keep a fresh flow of oxygen in your system.....but it seems like you would tire out
: : : : more quickly while running...that's just from my experience...dunno scientific stuff.
: : : : Whereas I would think that taking deep breaths while running would allow me to pace myself more, i dunno.
: : : : I know that while lifting, i like to take a deep breath going "down" with the weight and when i go
: : : : up, using all the resistance, i breath out heavily....
: : : : Okay i'm rambling now, don't know how much help i am :)
: : : :
: : : : : taylor, maybe you overlooked what i was trying to say. don't get me wrong. i exercise daily. i run for 45 min. and do toning exercises. i was simply asking if deep breathing, as opposed to our routine and unconscious shallow breathing, along with daily exercise would help lose weight quicker. i agree with you 101% that breathing alone will not do anything for us. but that was not my question. my question was, can deep breathing along with exercise help us lose weight quicker?
: : : : : take yoga. many people have lost weight stretching and breathing deeply... meditating, i suppose. why are they losing weight from simply stretching? they're not sweating bullets, like many others, rather warming muscles. what do you think about that? i'm puzzled. do you understand what i'm saying? or is there anybody else who might have any feedback? thanks.
: : : : :
: : : : : : think about what you're saying.....if you learn to "breathe right" you will lose weight? If that was the case,
: : : : : : we'd all look like greek gods without doing an ounce of work.
: : : : : : There simply is no replacement for a good workout. You HAVE to work up a sweat daily to see
: : : : : : any sorts of achievement. Informercials try to make it seem like "oh wow all i have to do is buy this product
: : : : : : and do minimal work and it'll work wonders".
: : : : : : Those people you see on TV might actually use the product you see, but rest assured they also hit
: : : : : : the gym daily.
: : : : : : T
: : : : : : : Hello,
: : : : : : : I was wondering if anyone has tried of the fitness video "Body Flex" that's played on the infomercials. I know that we should stay away from those products but I've purchased TaeBo
: : : : : : : With Body Flex, they concentrate on breathing and do not need much exercise. Does anybody know what that's all about? Can concentrating on breathing help one lose weight quicker? Please give me feedback about the video is anyone has tried it. Thanks!
: : I have! I tried it 2 years ago and lost several inches all over my body. However, for some reason or another I stopped doing it. Recently, I started a "get in shape" campaign and have been using the traditional aerobic videos that have worked for me before. However, I think I am going to add Body Flex back again.
: : One thing I *can* tell you is, my husband did not believe in Body Flex and teased me mercilessly while I did the work (some of the poses are rather silly looking). But one night while relaxing in bed, he grabbed my bottom and accused me of "squinching" (our term for flexing our buttocks muscles tightly). However, I was *not* squinching, and when I finally convinced him that I was not tightening my muscles, he stopped belittling the Body Flex. Hmmm...the more I think about it maybe I should dig out that tape and add it to what I'm doing...couldn't hurt.

: : PS I am NOT in any way affiliated with Body Flex or any other exercise product. The state of my figure today would back me up on this. :)
: :I have used Body Flex for over a month and I can not believe the results. I have been over 240 lbs, the past fer years, since 3 shoulder surgeries that left me unable to use my left hand or arm and I am left handed. But, I started using Body Flex with some changes in the exercises because of my shoulder and the results are amazing. I have lost over 6 inches in my waist and many more in the rest of my body and my energy level has increased 100%. It is truly amazing, just with Body Flex breathing and the exercises. You can't go wrong with it. I have tried every diet there is and other programs and nothing has ever worked like this.
