For the first question, maybe, sort of, not much. Seriously, it is very difficult to lose weight from only exercise, unless you can burn 500-1000 calories per workout (that would be running at least 6 mph for at least 45 min), 5-6 days per week. Most people who begin an exercise program are realistically looking at 200-300 calories at the most per workout. As you get more fit, burning more calories becomes easier. Adding dieting (moderate) to an exercise program has been shown by many studies to work the best (better than dieting alone). As for the second question, don't know it.
