Thanks for the information. The only problem that I have is that I workout at night usually my total workout time is 1 to 1 1/2 hours. And, when I do workout it is until failure. So, I feel like I am doing plenty. I mean I literally will workout (cardio and resistance) until I can't go on. I have tried running instead of just a brisk walk but I have lower back problems (not due to excercise) and unfortunately running just isn't an option right now. I alternate my cardio between brisk walking and intense swimming (15-20 roundtrip laps). Do you have any suggestions for a cardio activity which might increase my calorie consumption yet still stay within the amount of time I am used to working out? Thanks.
: You have a healthy body weight for your height by the way. But I understand your desire to lose more around the waist. It seems no matter how hard I train, I will always have a "spare tire", while the fat melts away everywhere else. I can thank mom and dad for that. The only thing I can tell you is in order to lose fat, you must expend more than you eat. Perhaps you can increase the intensity of your aerobic workouts or add another day of aerobic activities, both of which increase calorie expenditure. Or maybe add walking for 20-30 min a day into your routine. By the way, not losing weight does not necessarily mean you haven't lost fat, you may simply have alittle more muscle on you now.
