: Here's the question. Everything you read today says that all you need to do to lose weight and look pretty good is do aerobic exercise 3 times a week (and some weight lifting and proper diet). However, I recently realized that all the aerobics instructors in our gym, all do 2 classes per day. So it would seem to me that two times a day and 4-5 times a week is the real scoop. Can anyone "prove" to me that this isn't the real case? Who has had success with weight loss with the 3 times a week thing? Thanks.

Here's the scoop …
If you are ALREADY fit and healthy, and not interested in further weight loss, then all you need is exercise 3 times a week to maintain CURRENT weight and general fitness.
But, if you want to lose weight and get fit, then you need to increase your exercise program to a minimum of five times a week (together with diet & supplements).
Since boredom is the #1 reason people give up early on their exercise program, make sure you include a variety of activities that you enjoy doing. Alternate days with aerobics, light weights, tennis, step classes, racquetball, body sculpting … anything you like.
Once you REACH your desired weight goal (and maintained for a length of time), you can slowly begin to cut back on the number of days you need to exercise. Just be consistent. Good luck.
