Chronic shin splints are very common with compartment diagnosis. Shin splints cause small tears in the bone sheath and can be extremely painful although not usually permanent. I had a facsiotomy done on my right leg just over a year ago and experienced a 90% recovery. I still experience pain to touch over the incision site and severe pain with running but there has been a graet improvement on the walking end of things. Has anyone elsehad similar experiences? I would love some ideas on how to increase my running. I have tried starting very slow and short distances but still find myself having to stop after a few minutes. I am booked to see my surgeon again in two weeks time because I feel I have used all my resources.
