Just because you have injured one muscle doesn't mean you can't train the rest. If I were you, I would let pain be my guide. If it hurts, don't do it. You said you were a new trainer, do you think you are doing too much too fast? A lot of times, new trainers go wild and lift too much and hurt themselves. When you are first starting, I wouldn't recommend more than 3 sets of 8 for any lift. It probably will not seem like you are doing enough, but you really are. After a few months when your body "toughens up" a little you can increase your intensity.
