Since you aren't lifting heavy weights, your risk of tears and strains is minimal so I see no reason why you can't do the exercises untill you literally drop. Fear of injury is the reason why I would recommend a beginner to go light while lifting heavy weights, so I think you will be OK.
Motivation is an entirely different matter. There is no cut and dried answer for that one. Different people are motivated for different reasons and since I know very little about you it would be hard to tell you what would motivate you. Compliments from strangers and friends who haven't seen you in a while can sometimes keep you going for months or even years, haha. Sorry if I didn't help you very much with this reply.
