In Reply to: Astigmatism - how to prevent? posted by Celina L. on August 16, 2000 at 16:12:13:

Hi Celina. Can I sugest that you try and get referred to an Optometrist who may be able to answer your questions more fully. To the best of my knowledge there is nothing that can prevent astigmatism but good corrective lenses can usually rectify the effect of it. I have astigmatism myself and only find it a problem when attempting to wear contact lenses due to the weighted/thickened bottom edge. Good luck finding answers.: Hi. I am a 24-year old professional and I work with computers a lot. I also work late nights a lot. Recently, my eyesight has worsen. I am more concerned about my astigmatism, and my optician cannot give me answers that I am seeking for. I would like to know how to prevent my astigmatism from worsening. I heard that you can be blind if your astigmatism is really bad. Can anyone assist? Thanks.
