Hi all! I was involved in a vehicle accident on October the 15th. My cheek was broken as wll as my eyesocket, temporal bone and TMJ on the mandible. I was hospitalized for 5 days. Over the last month my eysight has improved slowly. I was given a test on November the 4th and my vision in the injured eye was 20/160. On November the 14th it was 20/120. My symptoms are as follows. Objects appear to be in focus but the amount of light seen thru the injured eye is about %70 of the other eye. There is also a loss of contrast. In low light with no direct light I can now use the injured eye without depth perception or other orientation problems. My eye motion and pupil dilation is normal. At the trauma center in the hospital they thought I had damage to my optic nerve. Is there a way to test for this for certain? If there is optical nerve damage is ther any way to correct it or repair my vision? I had alot of swelling in the eye and I think part of the problem is from a stretched cornea. How long till I can stop expecting to see improvement in my vision? Pls respond via Email if possible.
