i also have a lazy eye (the left one). my grandma had the same thing so it might be hereditary. i had surgery on my eyes when i was 2 years old because they were crossed. for a few months growing up i had to wear a patch over my strong eye in order to strengthen the lazy one. now, occasionally i will put a patch over the strong eye when i'm doing something like watching tv or reading. it does hurt a little at first because the eye is so weak.
