Astigmatism is not a serious as it sounds.
An astigmatism correction is given, when your depth perception is off. For example you might see an object in front of you, when in actuality its off to the side a bit.
Astigmatism is when your eye is not perfectly round, its shapped like an egg or a football.
Just about every one has an astigmatism in one form or another, some have more and require the proper correction. And some have just a slight correction its sometimes not detected or not needed.
