: Sounds pretty ugly, and it is. During the gut wretching epsiode caused by the flu virus, I blew a blood vessle in my eye. The white of the eye is red - solid. No pain. No vision problems - night or day. Should I be concerned?
This is quite a common occurence with sudden raized blood pressure as in sneezing , coughing, picking up weights and vomitting. These sub conjunctival hemorrhages reabsorb in about 2-3 weeks. Warm compressors for about 5 minutes 3 times a day help speed up the reabsorption of the blood.
