: I have a disease i guess you could call it. It is known as lazy eye.It is where my brain only sees out of one eye and doesnt use the other one unless it has to, like when i cover up my good eye. Well i am 14 and i know that my bad eye has improved from when i was 7 (first diagnosed with lazy eye) but the doctors say my eye cannot get any better. But i heard stories of how people did eye exercises to get their eye better. Is anything like this possible? Could anyone please give me advice. Thanks
Absolutely!!! My son & I have both gone through Vision Therapy. We had an eye exam at a vision clinic where the optomotrist was trained to detect vision disabilities. She was able to pinpoint the individual problems & prescribe funny little therapy exercises. I only had to go once a week for a short period of time, but my son had therapy for months. I made the poor kid practice his exercises at least 3 or 4 times a week, & the therapist would evaluate him weekly. It solved his dyslexic - type problem, the headaches, tracking & convergence problems, helped with spelling & writing, improved eye - hand coordination, & made it possible for him to read without the print suddenly taking off in another direction. Needless to say, it made school work a little easier to handle. Patty.
